SPACE PATROL
I was told I actually crawled into the living room to watch Space Patrol on a 7 inch TV.
Space Patrol ran as reruns right through the 6th grade for me. I could run home and catch an episode
I had seen a dozen times before. Drawing every Rocketship that flew by.
As far as Space Ships go the TERRA V is the MAN, the A-Number one, King of the Hill.
It was capable of Inter Stellar Flight, Vertical Lift (repellor ray), Magnetic drive (Star Drive), and
Rocket Propulsion. Only 250 feet long it had it all. If you could have a ship in your back yard, this is it!
Space Patrol had many versions of the Terra V. If you don't include some of the boom changes,
and the placements of the names "Terra V and Space Patrol" there were still six main types.
Space Patrol's Terra V had all the classic falling-meteor characteristics. From front to rear, it had a
long pointy nose, large round front end tapering to a narrow rear end with slick wings running down the
sides of the entire body. It had glass windows up front to show the pilots where they were going and side
port holes for the passengers viewing pleasure. It had everything. Here are three classic versions of the Terra V, MK-1, MK-2 and MK-5 all zipping around local space.
And here are the same three versions of the Terra V all at the main landing site on the man-made planet Terra.
With the vertical lift ray on, this view gives a good idea of how much bigger the MK-5 version is to the MK-1 and MK-2. I have one of the many tapes, that are available on Space Patrol. The scenes here are shown during the i
ntroduction of one of the episodes. In the TV series the launch platform was always a stand-alone ramp.
This is a series of six pads supported well above the ground. I added the railing and lights. SPACE PATROL I was told I actually crawled into the living room to watch Space Patrol on a 7 inch TV.

The Terra V (pick your favorite) entering a distant star system.
Next are several shots of the Terra V doing Faster than Light Speed. And yes I know you
can not see something traveling faster than light. I'm not sure which one I like best yet.
Im partial to the first one-the Mk-1. Its the simplest.

Space Patrol I really had a good time doing these interior shots of the Terra V. I started with the layouts provided by Solar Guard and then went to town. I filled the Terra V up with every item I could think of necessary to survive in space and to get the job done, that is, to bring in the bad guy.
My interior is for the Terra V MK-2. Its set up for a crew of four.
First is a series of 3 overview shots. You can see the interior really fits within the body of the ship.
The next 3 shots are of the Main Cabin. Captain sits on the left co-pilot on the right, pretty standard stuff. The controls are actually mirrored. The center control hold the thrust control, plus power up sequence, and communication. Along the starboard (right) side is the science center. On the opposite wall is the engineering panels.
Still on the upper deck and working to the back is what I call the operation staging area. This is the largest living/work area (out side of the hanger) and holds the dorsal exit via the class 3 air lock. Along the starboard side from front to rear is the weapons locker (red). A combination lock secures hand weapons. The next two lockers (green) hold space suites for various environments which they may encounter. Plus any and all types of gear for the specific operations. Along the back wall is a detainee bench and body restraints. The bench is shown folded up. The gold locks just above the bench are where the body restraints hook up.
On the port side of the operation staging area, small storage cabinets, then the medical cabinets plus the cryogenic units. These are used to place a person in suspended animation if a medical condition can not be resolved. Example a life threatening disease or injury. The persons may be brought back for skilled medical treatment back on planet Terra.
Still in the operations room note the silver door on the floor. This is an access door to the Star Drive projectors located between the upper and lower decks. Maintenance may be done through these access doors. There are several of these access doors located between the operations room and engineering.
Then next two shots are the Lower Control Room. On the lower deck and behind the missile room is the lower control room. This room is critical to the operation of the ship. It contains the controls for faster than light systems, plus a secondary flight system. The ship's main computers are located just to the right of the backup flight systems. Thru the open door is the missile room. To the right and left of the open door is a manual launch system for the missiles. Along the upper left and right are the plasma conduits for the defense system. These conduits connect directly to the Cosmic generator. The Star Drive, aka magnetic drive, aka faster than light drive is located on the starboard side along with it control systems.
In the second picture of the Lower Control room you can see the hanger. The ladder is in place but can be retracted to allow easier access and movement.
